Valves are mechanical devices that are used to control the volume of flow and pressure of fluids or gases. Closing, opening, or partially opening a passage through which the material passes regulates this flow.
Valves are quite diverse and may be classified into a number of basic types. Valves may also be classified by how they are actuated. For instance the compression valves, disk valves, ball valves, cartridge valves and the repairing valves.
Compression or stem type faucet – This is a two-handle faucet design. With a single faucet, you can enjoy both hot and cold water as per the requirement. You can tell a stem faucet by the way it feels when you turn it off. One can feel a rubber washer being squeezed inside the faucet. Compression valves possess o- rings beneath the faucet’s stem that tend to wear and tear with time.
Different compression valves have different stem designs however all utilizes the neoprene washers. The only cause for a leaky valve is a damaged washer.
Then comes the cartridge valves that are also known as washer- less valves are operated by only one handle. This way these are different to the compression valves. Inside this valve a metal or plastic cylindrical cartridge is located. As you lift the handle, the valve stem raises and its holes align with the holes of the cartridge. On the other hand, as you twist the handle, cold and hot water mix and regulate water temperature.
Disk valves are also without the washers. They are used mostly in single-handle kitchen sink faucets. These are also cylindrical in shape and are present in the faucet. This type of valve uses ceramic disks which fit exactly against each other, with every disk having a series of holes. It comprise of two hoses, one each for the hot and cold water.
Ball valve is an automatic flow control device. Regulating principle is the level of some free water surface. Ball valves basically consist of one handle under which a cylindrical cap is located. As the valve handle is turned to open the valve, the ball rotates to a point where part or the entire hole through the ball is in line with the valve body inlet and outlet, allowing fluid to flow through the valve.
Repairing valve: Leaking water valve is the most common plumbing problem within the home. Thus, repairing valves are highly prone to leaks. However, these can be repaired very easily.

In the fast-paced world we live in, support workers who can solve problems with computers and networks, along with giving constant help to users, are essential in every part of the workplace. Our requirement for more skilled and qualified individuals multiplies, as society becomes significantly more beholden to computers in the twenty first century.
The age-old way of teaching, utilising reference manuals and books, is an up-hill struggle for the majority of us. If this sounds like you, dig around for more practical courses which have a majority of interactive, multimedia parts.
Research into the way we learn shows that long term memory is improved when we use all our senses, and we get physically involved with the study process.
Top of the range study programs now offer easy-to-use DVD or CD ROM’s. Real-world classes from the instructors will mean you’ll absorb the modules, one by one, by way of the expert demonstrations. Then you test your knowledge by using practice-lab’s.
It’s very important to see examples of the study materials provided by any company that you may want to train through. Be sure that they contain instructor-led video demonstrations with virtual practice-lab’s.
Many companies provide purely on-line training; and while this is acceptable much of the time, imagine the problems if your access to the internet is broken or you only get very a very slow connection sometimes. It’s much safer to rely on actual CD or DVD ROMs which removes the issue entirely.
A so-called advisor who doesn’t ask many questions – chances are they’re just a salesperson. If they push a particular product before getting to know your background and whether you have any commercial experience, then you know you’re being sold to.
Where you have a strong background, or sometimes a little live experience (some industry qualifications maybe?) then it’s likely your starting point will vary from a trainee who has no experience.
For students embarking on IT studies anew, it’s often a good idea to avoid jumping in at the deep-end, by working on user-skills and software training first. This can be built into most training packages.
You should only consider study courses which will progress to commercially approved accreditations. There’s a plethora of small companies proposing ‘in-house’ certificates which are worthless when it comes to finding a job.
From an employer’s viewpoint, only the major heavyweights such as Microsoft, CompTIA, Adobe or Cisco (to give some examples) provide enough commercial weight. Nothing else will cut the mustard.
Don’t forget: a actual training or a certification isn’t what this is about; the job or career that you want to end up in is. A lot of colleges seem to put too much weight in the certificate itself.
It’s common, in some situations, to obtain tremendous satisfaction from a year of studying and then spend 20 miserable years in a career that does nothing for you, as an upshot of not doing the correct research when you should’ve – at the outset.
It’s well worth a long chat to see the exact expectations industry will have. Which precise qualifications they will want you to have and in what way you can gain some industry experience. It’s also worth spending time setting guidelines as to how far you wish to build your skill-set as it will force you to choose a particular set of qualifications.
Sense dictates that you seek advice from an experienced professional before embarking on a particular training programme, so there’s little doubt that a program provides the skills necessary.

Applying to a Federal job is totally different than applying for a civilian job. When a Federal vacancy opening is posted, they may require applicants to submit a narrative statement known as a KSA in addition to a resume.
KSA means knowledge, skills, and abilities, and should be written in a personal style to convey your knowledge, skills and abilities to the recruiter. There are 4 basic steps to writing a great KSA:
1. Review the Job opening. Make sure to pay attention to details. Also make sure that you understand the listing before you begin preparing your response otherwise you will not be able to provide the proper information.
2. Brainstorm by finding the abilities you have that are related to the announcement. This can be previous experience, knowledge or even skills that you got through hobbies – as long as it’s relevant, it does not have to be work related. For example, if the KSA question asks for managing skills, you can mention that you were a scout leader.
3. Now that you know your skills, you need to remember how they were used on the job. Ask yourself about the use of job skills, supervision (if any), your team player abilities, difficulty of your job, rules you follow, etc … When answering KSA points, you simply need to focus on how of they relate to what you need. This will become your KSA answers.
4. Writing the KSA answers. When you finally write your KSA’s, you should be very clear and straightforward in your answers. You need to demonstrate, in your writing, how the skills, abilities, and knowledge you have relate to the vacancy announcement. Don’t assume that the person reading your answers will be able to connect the dots; instead, make the connection for them.
When the KSA review comes, that’s the content of your answers that will be graded so as long as you are getting your message across, your writing style doesn’t really matter. KSA responses should be less than a page long. Avoid complicated sentences and technical jargon. If the hiring managers cannot understand you, they won’t hire you, no matter how qualified you are.
Writing a KSA response can be overwhelming but as long as you take your time and follow these steps, you should have no problem delivering a good KSA statement.

Most of the companies prefer using headhunters and executive search firms rather than online job boards. There is a common believe that these firms screen higher level job seekers. Headhunters help you widen your job net. The article advices on how to use the headhunters in advancing your job search. For actual headhunters to contact, JobConcierge.com has one of the most extensive lists of top local headhunters and recruiters available for free.
Always keep in mind that when you contact executive search firms you are not doing them a favor. Whenever you contact a recruiter, the first question you should ask is whether they are a ‘Retained Search Firm’ or ‘Contingency Firm’. Although you may not realize but there is a lot of difference between the two. When hiring company retains a recruiting firm, that firm is paid regardless of the result of the search. Retained firms are generally used for hiring higher-level positions at $100,000+ salaries. Contingency firms are paid only when their candidates are hired. One may ask, how it matter to me. The answer is that most of the Contingency firms are open to meeting more clients, while retained headhunters are not. The JobConcierge Top Headhunters List will help you search and find local executive recruiters in your area.
You should always ask the client name; often the recruiters will not divulge it, claiming that the client demands confidentiality. You can say that you already have contacts in the company and it would save them time and efforts. If they still continue to refuse ask what have they to offer. Do not submit your resume blindly. Sometimes, some recruiters might screw things up and submit your resume without your permission. Always understand that it is your loss and the best you can do is by not doing business with in the future.
We recommend that if you are to receive an offer from a company or you are in contact with the company, do not allow the recruiter to submit your resume. You will always end up losing. For example if I have your resume and I also receive it from the recruiter then your resume has that additional “20% cash” sign on it. I could have hired you without paying that, as a result your resume will find its way to the bottom of the pile. I would not want to argue with the recruiter to provide me ‘clean’ candidates. If you are looking for more job search advice, we recommend you check out JobConcierge.com for the Best Job Search Advice Collection on the internet.
Remember that when you approach an executive search consultant you are an ‘unsolicited resume’ in their minds. Even if you do not immediate opportunities that do not imply that you don’t have any in the future also. There might be a scenario where you might not fit a particular need that one of their clients has right now. Keeping in touch with relevant consultants makes sense, but that should be done selectively. You should understand that like most networking activities this is not a quick fix, but a gradual and long term tool for career development. At the JobConcierge.com top recruiter list, be sure to not only look at general headhunters, but also the ones within the industry that you work in.

There are three main ways people use to find jobs. The first was is through recruiters and headhunters. The second is through personal contacts. The third is searching for on job boards online. Searching for jobs online is the most difficult and many people are often overwhelmed. According to Wikipedia, there are over 40,000 job related websites online. During this summary, we’ll go through the best online job search advice so you can create the maximum impact per time spend looking for a job online.
First and most importantly, are job boards. I’m sure you’ve used or at least heard of some of the popular general job boards. These include Monster.com, CareerBuilder or Yahoo HotJobs. This is a good place to start. But did you know, if you only use the major job boards in your job search, then you could be missing as many as half of the jobs out there for you? The key gems are in the industry niche job boards.
Each industry has its own niche job boards. For example, in Finance there’s efinanicalcareers.com. In the Food and Beverage Industry, there’s BevForce. A great place to look for niche job boards in your industry is the JobConcierge Best Industry Job Boards on the Internet. Job Concierge sent out a survey to over 3,000 executives in various fields on LinkedIn asking them which job boards they use and like. We compiled the very best niche job boards out there. Combing through the various job boards is extremely tiring, time consuming and a job by itself. But if you want to be thorough and maximize your chances of finding your job, it’s a must-do.
The other way to look for a job is through social media. When we say social media in relation to the job hunt, we’re typically referring to LinkedIn, FaceBook or Twitter. First and foremost, separate your work accounts from your personal ones. It only takes a little bit of common sense to realize this, but no one does it until something’s already happened. LinkedIn is a purely business social network, but I highly recommend creating a separate FaceBook account or adjusting your privacy settings so you’re able to keep your personal and business life separate.
We could write a whole book on using social media in the job hunt, but I’ll leave here the most basic and easy advice. The quickest way to extending your personal brand on the internet is to start joining discussions on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. Both sites have specialized groups and LinkedIn has a niche Question and Answer area. Promote your expertise by answering questions and engaging in conversations. At the end, leave your signature at the end of the messages with your email address so other people who liked what you wrote, and headhunters scouring the web, can add you as a contact. The key is to be consistent and sincere. Many people work for a week or two and then give up. The ones who succeed are the ones who dedicate small bits of time on a daily and weekly basis.
